just wondering that when you are alone with your cats do you feel lonely without any human companionship. i have lived alone for 25 years, but ive never been lonely because of my cats being there. doe everyone else feel the same way?

Yes, I know exactly what you mean.
I have been in hospital for an operation on my knee and am hobbling around on crutches. Raf is in a cattery while I get myself a little more steady on my feet. Safer for both of us.
I do miss him badly but he is coming home on Tuesday.:)

Thanks, it's getting better all the time.:)
Raf is fine, he went for his annual checkup and jabs last week. He was given a clean bill of health.

Hello

I just took Mr Sam to the vet. It was a very trying day. He was so upset lying on the floor cleaning and yowling. Sure enough he has a bladder /urinary tract infection and a bit of crystal formation. The doctor said they would give me pills -- I thought no problem I've given plenty of cats pills -- but these are HUGE, it may be because he is 14 pounds.

Anyhow I hope this does the trick as he scared me and Small this morning.

Hi Alice, This is what Raf had last year. He is now on a special diet to stop it recurring. I crushed the pills between 2 spoons and mixed it with some wet food. That seemed to do the trick.
Give him a hug for me.

I might try that the vet said pop the pill -- but the aid who gave me the pills suggested mixing them with food. They gave me a syringe to wash it down so I figure they don't taste good.

This morning I thought about asking you about the symptoms Raf experienced. After his initial fuss he calmed down and I worried I was making a mountain out of a mole hill but then he fussed again. I am glad I called the doctor right away.

What food do you get?

He is having a dried food, which he prefers. Royal Canin S/U Urinary, I order it on line in a 6 kilo bag from Nutracare, it lasts about two and a half to three months and costs around £33 (approx $66).
My Vet told me that there was a possibility it could come back so I'm not taking any chances.
So far he has not had it again.

We are basically out of food -- so I think I will go look for that. I think I will get some canned food so he gets plenty of water the next few days. Usually he prefers dry but when he came home from the vet he guzzled down the wet food. And as the vet gave him subcutaneous water just to make sure he would pee I figured the wet food would be good.

This is what Raf has - nutrecare.co.uk/prod5.asp [nutrecare.co.uk/prod5.asp]=&

They also do pouches of wet food but it is very expensive.
I bought Raf a cheap water fountain so he is unlikely to run out of water.
