I wish I'd taken a video of Maddy trying to get out of her room last night (if she was drowsy after her surgery I some how missed it). A wild flaying of front legs and paws poking out from under the door. Ziggy decided to check it out and at one point she gently put her paw atop of Maddy's. Maddy then retreated from the door. I'm hoping that if that happens a couple more times Maddy will realize Ziggy is not a threat. We just need to be patient.

I think by the time I was allowed to take my cats home they were fully recovered.

I've had a couple of cats (both male) who were extremely nervous & anxious coming off the anesthesia after neutering. They would shake, and bob their little heads. It was pitiful.

But the second time it happened, I just sat & held the little guy all night, and we really bonded!

Finally. Maddy came home from the vet with a scrape on her right cheek so I've held off taking and posting pictures until now. It has healed up and her belly incision is healing very nicely. She didn't lick at it and there's been no leakage or anything. Quick healing which I take as further proof of how young she really is. She's what I"ll call a case of "kitten interrupted" and is resuming her kittenhood with a passion. She's got more energy than I remember Ziggy having as a kitten. Now that she's healed up I'm going to resume the integration process. Click on these thumbnails for a closer look and don't let that innocent look fool you. She's a Baddy Maddy!

It looks like she has a little divet on her nose.

Yes, she has a brown spot on the tip of her nose.

The door to the spare bedroom is now open. Maddy's dishes will be moved into the kitchen later today and her litter box into the basement (thank goodness).

There's no great friendship yet. Ziggy has been hissing and growling whenever Maddy gets within 4 feet of her but Maddy is no longer going into attack mode. I think she realizes this is her home now and must make the effort to win Ziggy over, which I'm sure she will do eventually. Ziggy appears quite fascinated/amused by her rambunctious shenanigans (as long as she keeps her distance).
